Glistening waters trickle over the edge of the whirlpool spillover and continue across the length of the infinity edge resulting in a continuous musical flow of water. The crisp white plaster pool finish has an inviting appeal as it turns the water a refreshing arctic blue. A funky glass mosaic tile blend of various blues with hints of sparkling silver lines the infinity edge and pool wall drawing the eye to the unique geometric shape of the pool and whirlpool. To tie in the design of the modern home, a pewter colored concrete coping was used around the pool and outdoor sitting area. The lounge areas immediately adjacent the pool have a gorgeous Brazilian iron wood deck, a warm contrast to the stark concrete. For late night enjoyment of the outdoor living space a fireside pit was included.
The unique shape of the pool whirlpool combination was created to solve the problem of the backyard’s natural layout. The owner wanted to view the Bay from the pool but the restrictions of the lot required the pool to face the mountain terrain instead with the Bay on the right. A simple solution was to angle the whirlpool to face the stunning view of the Bay while still keeping the pool perpendicular to the trees.
